The fax system can be configured to interact with the national phone line via ISDN (PRI,BRA) or analog access (RTG). Alternatively the fax system can interact with a data network (ADSL, HDLS) where it is possible to configure SIP accounts. The fax server is based on 2 different architectures: With the assistance of dedicated Hardware:one or more modems connected to a multi-serial card or to a single server card, to receive calls and negotiate analog/ISDN sessions and pass it over to the software (FAX SERVER ISDN). Fully software-driven solution:one or more virtual modems set on the respective fax numbers, configured based on the SIP accounts. The first solution is based on the installation and configuration of hardware systems connected to the internet. It is possible to replicate this structure on several sites in order to guarantee service continuity. The second solution, fully software, is based on the installation of an in house server or of a third party server farm. This solution allows you to configure phone lines as SIP accounts directly within the administrator area of the fax server portal. Users can send and receive faxes within their personal area on the portal, no matter the chosen architecture. Each configured fax number is linked to a personal area from where users can send/receive faxes (#users that is, #user fax numbers configured on the portal).
